Policies/ terms & conditions

Roller skating in and of itself presents associated risk of injury.

SK8-2-U has taken the following steps to create a safe environment for our skaters.

  • We provide elbow, knee and wrist guards.

  • We have helmets available for use.

  • We have created a central reservation for beginners and novice skaters.

  • We have increased staff members on site helping skaters.

  • As part of our policies and procedures; risk assessments, health & Safety procedures and relevant insurance are all in place.

  • Our staff team has at least 2 qualified first aiders at all sessions.

  • Our roller skates are routinely checked and maintained. The Rio Rentals are specifically built for the rental market.

Beyond this, SK8-2-U cannot accept responsibility for injuries or Damages caused in the usual course of events in a roller-skating session.

By continuing to engage in our session we assume you accept responsibility for your own personal safety, you have self-assessed your and/or your child’s skating ability and you are happy for you and/or your child to engage in this activity at your own risk.

Spectator Policy:

Due to limited overall capacity in the hall, people watching count towards our overall capacity limit. Which in essence means the more people watching means less that can take part in skating.

SK8-2-U are a roller-skating company and people’s ability to access the activity is our priority.

For this reason, we have decided to limit the access for spectators in the hall to 1 non-skater per group of skaters.

Unless you have brought 4 or more skaters with you, in that case, we are able to permit 2 people to observe from inside the hall.

If you are assisting a skater, this must be done in the central reservation (coned off section in the middle.)

All spectators must remain in the designated area in the hall and are not permitted to be in the actual skating area.

These measures are to help ensure the safety of our skaters and the people watching.  Infringement of these measures will leave us no option but to ask you to leave the hall.

SK8-2-U Photography policy:

SK8-2-U staff and professional photographers regularly take photographs and videos to create promotional content for our social media, website, and brochures.

You are more than welcome to object to you or your child being photographed or having images shared for promotional use.

Please let the staff know of these objections and we will endeavour to ensure that you or your child are not photographed, and we will ensure the image is deleted and not shared.

By not expressing an objection SK8-2-U assume that posting and promoting videos taken will be done with implied consent.

While SK8-2-U have policies and procedures we understand that parents that attend our sessions don’t, so we ask all spectators and skaters taking videos/photographs for personal use to respect each other’s rights to privacy.

If you share any content from our sessions, we would appreciate it if you tag us

Thank you very much for taking the time to read our updated policies we hope you understand it is our aim to provide a fun and safe environment for all of our customers
